Earth Day PosterEarth Day Fair

LocalMotionGreen's signature event is an annual Earth Day celebration in April. This fun event for adults and children showcases local resources that help promote healthy daily living to the community. Representatives from business, non-profit organizations, and government departments participate. There are also family activities for fun and education as well as food and demonstrations.

Our gardening initiative promotes pesticide-free gardening. The program offers lawn & gardening tips and volunteer opportunities. The objective is to significantly increase the use of pesticide-free gardening practices with the goal of creating a healthier community that uses no pesticides in gardening. Health & Environment Connection

Health & Environment Connection NewsletterLocalMotionGreen's vision for "a country in which preventable causes of cancer and other illnesses stemming from environmental toxicity have been eradicated" led to the creation of our newsletter, Health & Environment Connection, in 2003. This periodical educates people on the importance of a healthy environment, a healthy lifestyle and ways to achieve them. Distribution is primarily through email or on the website; hard copies are available on request. View Archive

Articles are based on leading edge scientific studies and cover topics such as pesticide-free gardening, greener cleaners, healthier pets, and eco-friendly home renovation products and offer practical solutions. There are also updates on national and state level activity such as pesticide notification legislation. Our Healthy Living Library provides a searchable database of past articles.


Community Education Programs

LectureHealthier living begins with awareness and knowledge. Expanding on several years of hosting nationally renowned scientists and environmental health advocate speakers, LocalMotionGreen expanded its presentations to focus on practical alternatives to continued use of harmful chemicals. LocalMotionGreen gives presentations and educational programs to parent groups, cancer survivor groups, medical associations, chronic disability health support groups, garden clubs, environmental organizations and school classes. Topics include gardening without pesticides, organic food, green cleaning, and the cosmetic industry.
